A Little More About Our Causes:

At the National Level:

Since 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) has led the way in building awareness, providing education and inspiring hope to everyone involved in the effort to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children. Working with our collegiate and alumnae chapters, we provide leadership to promote and implement prevention efforts at both the national and local levels. With the help of our state chapters and concerned individuals like you we're valuing children, strengthening families and engaging communities nationwide.  For more information on PCA America, go to: www.preventchildabuse.org

On the Local Level:

South Side Day Nursery (SSDN) is a 501c (3) community organization that has been in operation since 1886 in South St. Louis City. For more than 120 years, SSDN has continued its mission serving hundreds of families every year. The majority of SSDN families live in St. Louis’ South Side neighborhoods – Benton Park West, Gravois Park, Fox Park and McKinley Heights. Ninety percent of the children in SSDN programs live in poverty; 80 percent live in single-parent homes; and 56 percent receive food stamps. SSDN families include teenage moms completing high school, grandparents who have custody of their grandchildren, and “working poor” parents who struggle to stay in local restaurant, health care or retail jobs. Many parents work two jobs or attend school or training programs to earn more money and benefits. It is the goal of the St. Louis Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter to enable SSDN to reach even more children and their families in the area. Attaining this goal is only possible through the help of generous local sponsors throughout St. Louis City and St. Louis County.

For more information on SSDN, go to:  www.ssdn.org
